ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Sivikela is a digital funeral insurance platform built within the ZiyaPay ecosystem, extending the platform's mission of making financial services more accessible for everyday South Africans.

As ZiyaPay evolved from a taxi payments solution into a broader financial services platform, insurance became a natural next step. Sivikela was created to give users simple, affordable access to funeral cover through the same trusted digital experience they already use to manage payments and financial tools.

DESIGN INSIGHT

Sivikela was designed as a modular insurance brand; not a standalone company, but a protection layer that can seamlessly integrate into larger financial ecosystems.

The challenge was to create a brand that felt reassuring without feeling traditional. Insurance is often associated with complexity, paperwork, and corporate language. Sivikela needed to feel simple, accessible, and human.

At the heart of the identity is a distinctive wordmark featuring a subtle cut-out within the "V". Inspired by themes of protection, continuity, and progress, the mark introduces a sense of upward movement while remaining intentionally abstract. It reflects a core belief behind the brand: protection should enable people to move forward with confidence, not hold them back.

This philosophy informed every aspect of the experience, from the visual identity and digital product design to customer journeys that make discovering, purchasing, and managing cover effortless.
